Job description
We are proud to be partnering with a Housing Association, who are looking to appoint a Heating Engineer on a six-week temporary contract.
This will be a full-time position covering a patch in Coventry, with a rate of £35 per hour on a CIS basis via an umbrella company.
The ideal candidate will have extensive administrative skills and ideally have experience working within the education sector.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
Carrying out mainly servicing as well as a small level of installation, maintenance and repairs on domestic heating appliances and systems, ensuring all homes are left safe and fit for purpose
Adhering to all Health & Safety regulations, wearing correct PPE, following Safe Systems of Work, and maintaining responsible driving standards at all times
Delivering excellent customer service by communicating effectively and supporting colleagues
Undertaking planned and reactive heating works, including full and partial installations, LGSRs, servicing, fault diagnosis, and safety checks of gas installations
Working collaboratively with plumbers or apprentices, coordinating activities to remove redundant systems, install or adapt modern gas heating systems, and organise materials and stock efficiently
Qualifications and experience required:
Experience working in social housing environments, delivering heating system services in both occupied and void properties
Proven ability to work directly with customers in housing settings, ensuring high-quality service and clear communication
Strong understanding of mechanical, plumbing, and heating systems, including installation, servicing, and fault diagnosis
Hold relevant industry qualifications including CCN1, CEN1, CPA1, WAT1, CKR1, HTR1, NVQ Level 2 & 3 in Plumbing (or equivalent), with desirable certifications such as Part P Electrical Installation, Unvented Systems, HETAS, LPG, OFTEC, Air/Ground Source Heat Pumps, and Commercial ACS
Working hours:
37 hours per week
Monday - Friday
