Job description
We are proud to be partnering with a Social Housing provider in the East Midlands, who are looking to appoint an Electrician on a permanent basis.
The salary for the role is circa £39,000 per annum plus a van and fuel card.
The ideal candidate must have 2391 and 18th edition, you must be willing to work as part of a team and share your expertise amongst the team, you must also have outstanding communication skills.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Carrying out electrical installations, repairs and maintenance across tenanted and void properties in line with current regulations and company standards
- Conducting electrical inspections, testing, and certification including EICRs and minor works certificates to ensure full compliance and safety
- Identifying and rectifying electrical faults and defects, recording all findings and actions accurately via PDA systems
- Performing associated general building works, such as basic carpentry or plumbing, to support completion of electrical tasks where required
- Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety legislation, completing risk assessments, and maintaining a safe working environment for customers and colleagues
- Managing materials, tools and van stock effectively, ensuring accurate recording, safe storage, and timely replenishment of supplies
- Providing excellent customer service by communicating clearly, respecting customers' homes, and ensuring all works are completed safely, cleanly, and to a high standard
Experience required:
- Demonstrating proven experience working as a qualified electrician across a range of installation, maintenance and repair tasks
- Carrying out electrical works within occupied domestic properties, including interaction with customers and vulnerable residents
- Working within a social housing or local authority environment, delivering services to agreed standards and timescales
- Applying safe systems of work in public or residential settings, ensuring compliance with Health and Safety procedures and PPE use
- Using handheld PDA technology and IT systems effectively to record, manage and update job information
Qualifications required:
- Holding a relevant NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds qualification (or equivalent) in Electrical Installation or a related discipline
- Possessing City & Guilds 2382 - 18th Edition Wiring Regulations and City & Guilds 2391 - Inspection and Testing qualification
- Holding a valid CSCS or ECS Health & Safety card
Working hours:
- 40 hours per week
- Monday - Friday
- After three months you will be put onto a 1 in 6 call out rota
