Job description
We are currently working in partnership with a Social Housing Provider in Preston, who are recruiting for a Damp, Mould and Disrepair Surveyor role on a permanent basis.
This is an urgent fill, but the client is happy to wait for notice periods if required. The salary for the role is £44,000 (Dependent on experience).
Demonstrable experience in Disrepair, Damp and Mould is required for the position. Also, Social Housing experience is a necessity for this role.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
Carrying out detailed property inspections across domestic housing stock, focusing on damp, mould, condensation, and disrepair issues
Diagnosing property defects, developing Scot Schedules and specifications for remedial works
Overseeing repair programmes from instruction through to completion, ensuring compliance and high-quality outcomes
Liaising with tenants, contractors, and internal teams to ensure timely communication and customer satisfaction
Reviewing and challenging third-party disrepair reports and schedules as required
Maintaining accurate inspection records and updating internal systems
Providing technical advice to colleagues and assisting with health & safety compliance
Requirements:
Proven experience in property surveying or asset management
Strong knowledge of DMC and disrepair legislation, including Awaab's Law and the Housing Health & Safety Rating System
HNC or NVQ Level 4 (or equivalent) in Building Services, Construction, or related discipline
Full driving licence and access to a vehicle
Working hours:
37.0 hours per week
Monday - Friday, Flexible Start/Finish Times
