Job description

We are currently working in partnership with a Social Housing Provider, who are recruiting for a permanent Damp and Mould Surveyor to cover Oldham and Rochdale.

This is a permanent position, with the salary for the role being £44,414 with a van included. To obtain this salary their would need to be demonstratable experience in Damp and Mould.

The ideal candidate will have extensive damp, mould experience and happy liaising with tenants in a friendly manner and explaining the causes of Damp and Mould.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Conducting detailed inspections of residential and commercial properties to identify damp and mould issues
  • Working knowledge of Awaab's law
  • Assessing moisture sources, condensation levels, and ventilation performance
  • Diagnosing causes of damp, including rising damp, penetrating damp, and condensation
  • Using specialist equipment to measure humidity, moisture content, and air quality
  • Recording findings accurately and producing clear technical reports
  • Recommending remedial actions in line with housing standards and best practice
  • Advising occupants and landlords on prevention and maintenance measures
  • Liaising with landlords, contractors, and housing officers regarding findings
  • Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and housing regulations
  • Monitoring follow-up works and verifying effectiveness of remedial treatments

Experience/Qualifications required:

  • Experience carrying out Damp and Mould Surveys
  • Experience liaising with tenants in a friendly manner
  • Experience in finding the root cause of Damp and Mould
  • HNC or equivalent qualifications

Working hours:

  • 35 hours per week
  • 08:30 - 16:00
  • Monday - Friday, Flexible Start/Finish Times
