Job description
We are currently working in partnership with a Local Authority based in Exeter, who are recruiting for a Community Safety Officer which is full time and can start within the next few weeks. The role will be a temporary contract for 12-months leading to extension or permanent placement.
The role will be based in central Exeter and the rate of pay is £20-21.00 per hour via Umbrella - with working hours of 14:00PM - 22:00PM on a 3-days on, 3 days off, 2 days on, 2 days off basis (including weekends).
The ideal candidate will have a car and an Enhanced DBS and have a strong background with conflict management.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Advise and support complainants, witnesses and perpetrators, investigating complaints and seeking informal resolution such as mediation, assertively challenging behaviour or taking legal action
- Promote and develop a multi-agency and corporate approach to anti-social behaviour and enviro crime
- Co-ordinate multi-agency responses to specific incidents of anti-social behaviour, developing preventative and diversionary measures in conjunction with partner agencies to reduce instances of anti-social behaviour and homelessness
- Be a regular visible presence in the city, taking a proactive response to complaints of anti-social behaviour, enviro crime and unauthorized encampments, engaging with and responding to business, residents and visitor concern
Experience required:
- Experience with anti-social behaviour and mediation
- The role would be great for anyone with a background in homelessness, substance use, offending behaviour, mental health crisis or outreach work, or alternatively experience with security or custody
Working hours:
- An average of 37 hours per week
- 2pm - 10pm on a rota basis
