​Our client, a Council based in Central Southern England, is currently recruiting for a Category Officer on a temporary contract. The Council offer a great hybrid working model, with office presence once monthly.

The position is due to start ASAP on a full-time basis (37 hours/week). The hourly rate is £27.96 via an umbrella company.

The ideal candidate will have experience working within the Children’s Services or Education categories of a council.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

• Undertaking full delivery of key procurement and contracts management within Children’s Services

• Supporting effective decision making in relation to the procurement of goof and services from supplier

• Building effective working relationships, relating to level 2 category spend across the Council

• Working with Commissioners and Officers across the Council to deliver procurement and contract management activities specific to level 2 spend

• Using eTendering systems and procurement planning system to ensure procurement pipeline, tender management and contracts records are effectively up-to-date

Experience required:

• Experience required in Children’s Services category

• MCIPS level 4 is desired
