Job description

We are currently working in partnership with a Local Authority in the West Midlands, who are looking to appoint a Housing Lawyer to join the team on a locum basis for an initial 3 months, with potential for extension.

The role offers home working, with regular Court attendance required in the West Midlands. The hourly rate for the role is £45 - £50 p/hour UMB.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Providing high-quality legal advice and representation to the local authority on housing law matters, with a particular focus on anti-social behaviour and related injunction proceedings
  • Preparing, issuing, and managing legal proceedings including, but not limited to: Injunctions under the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014, Possession proceedings (e.g. Ground 7A/14), Closure orders, Committal applications for breach of injunctions
  • Drafting and reviewing legal documents including witness statements, claim forms, court bundles, and consent orders
  • Representing the council in court and tribunals

 

Experience required:

  • Conducting own advocacy
  • Strong knowledge of Housing Management & ASB

 

Working hours:

  • 35 hours per week
  • Monday - Friday
