Job description
We are currently partnering with a Housing Association based in Somerset, who are recruiting for a Service Charge Specialist to join their team on a 2-year FTC.
This is a full-time position with flexible hybrid working and a salary of £38,000-£41,500 (subject to experience). The start date for the role is subject to notice.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
Working with asset and housing management teams to develop annual service charge budgets
Monitoring and reporting on service charge expenditure and providing regular financial forecasts and reports
Overseeing issuance of service charge invoices and statements to residents and leaseholders
Preparing and calculating accurate service charge estimates and actuals for tenants and leaseholders
Supporting the management and collection of service charges, including arrears recovery and implementing debt recovery strategies
Project managing the organisation’s alignment with the council, delivering a single Service Charge Policy, a single Section 20 Policy, calculations of service charge across both organisations and identifying opportunities to maximise service charge income collection
Maintaining details record of service charge accounts, transactions and reconciliations
Monitoring and reporting service charge expenditure, identifying variances and implementing corrective actions
Acting as the main point of contact for residents and leaseholders regarding service charge queries and disputes
Managing the Section 20 consultation process for major works and long-term agreements
Experience required:
Managing the Service Charge
Familiarity with Section 20 consultation requirements
Finance qualification is desirable
