Job description
We are proud to be partnering with a reputable Social Housing provider in the West Midlands, who are looking to appoint a Senior Building Surveyor on a permanent contract.
This will be a full time position and it is fully office based. It offers a salary of circa £55,000 per annum + a company vehicle.
The ideal candidate must have a strong background in leadership and project management, within the Social Housing sector.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
Carrying out building surveys, asbestos inspections, and HHSRS assessments to ensure compliance with Awaab's Law and statutory regulations
Leading and coordinating planned maintenance, cyclical works, and responsive repairs across the property portfolio
Managing a team of surveyors and contractors, overseeing workloads, performance, and ensuring high-quality, cost-effective service delivery
Project managing maintenance, refurbishment, and decarbonisation initiatives, ensuring compliance with PAS 2035 and timely completion of works
Conducting risk assessments, implementing remedial actions, and carrying out quality control checks to maintain safe and compliant housing stock
Engaging with residents and stakeholders, providing technical advice and promoting participation in service delivery
Monitoring key performance indicators and project outcomes to drive continuous improvement in compliance, safety, and resident satisfaction
Experience required:
Proven experience delivering building surveying services within the social housing sector, including responsive repairs, planned maintenance, and cyclical programmes
Demonstrable experience managing contractors and project delivery, ensuring compliance with health & safety, quality standards, budgets, and KPIs
Strong experience in stock condition surveys, asset data management, and lifecycle planning to inform investment and maintenance programmes
Sound knowledge and practical experience of building legislation, compliance, and building safety, including CDM regulations and wider sector requirements
Experience managing maintenance or capital works programmes while ensuring value for money, performance monitoring, and high standards of service delivery
Working hours:
37 hours per week
Monday - Friday
Office based role
