We are currently working in partnership with a Housing Association based in East London, who are recruiting for an Income Officer on a 6-month fixed term contract. The position is due to start ASAP and is paying a salary of £30,000 per annum.

The ideal candidate will have experience recovering rent arrears, dealing with housing benefit appeals and hold a basic DBS check.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

• Investigating and supporting clients to manage overpayment claims from housing benefits

• Ensuring rent accounts are up to date and chasing current and former residents in arrears

• Checking housing benefits entitlements and requesting adjustments accordingly

• Working closely with the Finance Officer, Revenue and Income Team Leader

• Managing resident rent and accommodation charge accounts and other former resident debts

Experience required:

• Experience of working with software applications including Microsoft office and bespoke IT systems

• Experience working within supported housing would be great, but not essential!

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

• Strong organizational skills

• Ability to meet deadlines and priorities workloads

• Able to take ownership and deliver excellent customer service in a professional and confident manner
