Job description

Our client, based in Kent, is currently recruiting for a Repairs Manager on a permanent contract.

The position is due to start immediately on a full-time basis. The salary on offer is £54,305 per annum.

The ideal candidate will have experience managing field-based teams and up-to-date knowledge of gas safety. A full UK license is essential.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Provide clear line management for Gas engineers, including performance reviews, training, absence management, and technical support
  • Lead delivery of responsive repairs and installations, ensuring work is completed on time, to budget, and to agreed quality standards
  • To oversee and manage the planned replacement/upgrade of heating/hot water systems
  • Proactively manage workforce capacity and scheduling to maximise productivity and meet service targets
  • Monitor and improve first-time fix rates through van stock management, coaching, and root cause analysis
  • Carry out regular quality checks and safety audits to maintain compliance with H&S, gas safety and industry regulations
  • Work closely with scheduling, planning and subcontractors to resolve issues and deliver a seamless service
  • Support engineers with on-the-job learning, toolbox talks and ongoing skills development

Experience required:

  • Experience managing field-based teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Contract and KPI management experience

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Strong understanding of responsive repairs and housing maintenance
  • Up-to-date knowledge of gas safety, asbestos regulations, and Health & Safety legislation relevant to housing maintenance and construction
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with contractors, residents, and stakeholders

  • Monday- Thursday 8am- 5:30pm and Friday 8am- 5pm
