Job description

We are currently partnering with a reputable South Wales based Housing Association, who are recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team on a permanent basis.

This is a full-time position with a salary of £43,803 per annum and the start date is subject to notice.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Providing a full range of professional Quantity Surveying services to support the efficient planning and delivery of the property investment and regeneration work

  • Supporting the Capital Investment Finance Manager with project cost and contract management

  • Producing accurate forecast and budget information in line with financial requirements, working collaboratively with the Association’s wider teams to ensure financial orders are understood and followed

  • Providing feasibility costs for future projects based on internal and external costs

  • Working with project managers to manage project costs, authorise variations and valuations

  • Providing value engineering advice for projects where costs are higher than expected

  • Giving financial technical support in the preparation of tenders, preparing cost matrices for tenders

  • Preparing contract documents and arranging for their signing and sealing as appropriate, and the issue of documentation to successful contractors. Advising and supporting other team members with contract management using JCT, NEC and other forms of contract

Requirements:

  • Experience working with finance teams and managing costs for capital works projects within a Housing setting

  • Contract management experience

  • Strong procurement knowledge

  • Full UK driving licence

Working hours:

  • 37.5 hours per week

  • Monday – Friday, flexible start/finish times
