Job description

We are currently working in partnership with a Housing Association based in Newport, who are recruiting for a Project Surveyor on a eight week contract. The position is due to start immediately. The hourly rate of pay is negotiable up to £30 via an Umbrella company.

The ideal candidate will hold the relevant HND/HNC qualification and have experience of Project Management within property and contracting. The candidate must hold a full UK Driving license as this role will involve travelling.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Completing pre and post surveys and inspections on domestic properties for planned improvement and refurbishment works

  • Supervising contractors working under contract, including assessment of quality, compliance with contract conditions and safe working practices

  • Ensuring completed projects meet required standards and that all remedial works are completed

  • Leading projects and manage capital investment schemes, managing multiple projects concurrently from inception through to final account

  • Liaising closely with key stakeholders and tenants, giving updates on upcoming/ongoing works

Experience required:

  • Experience completing surveys and writing specifications for planned works

  • Project management experience in a property or contracting context

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Relevant HND / HNC construction qualification

  • SMSTS or the equivalent

  • Full UK driving licence

Working hours:

  • 37 hours per week

  • Monday – Friday, flexible start/finish times
