Job description
Our client, a prestigious Borough council based in Kent, is currently recruiting for a Private Sector Housing Technical Officer on a 3–6 month temporary contract.
The position is due to start immediately on a full-time basis. The hourly rate is negotiable based on experience for this position as the client is open to anyone with any level of private sector housing experience.
The successful candidate will have experience working in private sector housing and enforcement, be HHSRS qualified and also have a full UK driving license and access to their own vehicle.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
Conducting HHSRS inspections and dealing with statutory responses on domestic properties across the Council area, from bungalows to HMO’s and flats
Dealing with a large number of cases of a low to medium level to clear a backlog and maintain the councils statutory requirements
Carrying out inspections, creating reports, analysing results and escalating any cases where necessary
Using Schedules of Work to recommend works required and ensuring budgets are maintained
Establishing conditions and breaches of statutory responses
Delivering service of notices and orders, issuing formal and informal notices
Experience required:
Working in private sector housing
Enforcement
Working with customers within housing
Working on a broad range of properties
HHSRS surveys
Using the Uniform system (desirable)
Skills, knowledge and expertise required:
HHSRS qualified
Risk assessment and management
Financial management and budgeting
Compliance and due diligence
