Job description
We are proud to be partnering with a North London based Housing provider who are looking to hire a Payroll and Accounts Assistant on a 12 month- fixed term contract on a part-time basis.
Contracted hours are 28 hours per week and is offering hybrid working, with two days in the office per week. The salary on offer is £26,000- £28,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
Key tasks and responsibilities:
Provide support and cover to the Finance Payroll Manager, including full payroll processes
Ensure adherence to the payroll timetable and process ad-hoc/emergency payroll payments when required
Maintain payroll confidentiality, ensuring all information is securely filed and compliant with data protection regulations
Support the processing and maintenance of pension data and records for the Group
Process petty cash and credit card returns in line with accounting deadlines, ensuring all receipts are complete and business-related
Post monthly petty cash and credit card journals within set deadlines and follow up on any late submissions
Distribute credit card statements and keep an updated master list of all cards, authorised users, and limits
Reconcile petty cash and credit card control accounts monthly, investigating and correcting discrepancies
Essential attributes:
Proven experience in managing in-house payroll systems
Strong knowledge of all payroll aspects, including deductions, pensions, and statutory returns
Excellent time management skills
High attention to detail
Ability to manage and meet multiple deadlines effectively
