Job description

We are currently partnering with a leading local authority with operations in Swindon and Wiltshire, who are recruiting for a Disrepair Surveyor to join their growing team on a temporarybasis.

This is a full-time position offering an hourly rate of £46.97 on a Umbrella basis and the start date is subject to notice.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

·         Conducting detailed property inspections in response to disrepair claims raised by tenants under the Homes (Fitness for Human Habitation) Act and Landlord and Tenant Act.

·         Producing comprehensive disrepair reports, including photographic evidence and schedules of remedial works, in line with legal and internal standards.

·         Liaising directly with tenants, legal representatives, and contractors to assess repair needs and manage expectations regarding resolution timelines.

·         Working collaboratively with legal teams to provide expert technical advice, support case preparation, and attend court proceedings or joint inspections where required.

·         Developing and monitoring work schedules for remedial repairs, ensuring contractor performance met agreed service levels and budget constraints.

·         Providing technical input into complaints and housing condition reports, supporting colleagues across housing management and asset teams

Experience required:

·         Experience required in Social Housing

·         Experience working with customers within housing

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

·         Ideally a relevant qualification including a HNC or HND

·         In depth knowledge of Damp and Mould legislation
