Job description
We are currently working in partnership with a Housing Association with a portfolio across London and South East, who are looking to appoint 2 x Major Works Surveyor on a permanent contract.
This is a fully remote working role with a patch to cover as close to home as possible.
The successful candidate must be at least HNC/HND level qualified and the salary on offer is £55,000 + Benefits.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience of overseeing the delivery of Major Works, ideally within a social housing environment.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Project manage major repairs for the London & Southeast from inception through to completion including diagnosing, specifying, procuring and monitoring which include; insurance claim works, structural damp works, major drainage works, ground works, aids & adaptations, disrepair works
- Undertake contractor administration duties as required including reviewing Bills of Quantities, Schedules of Works, Specifications and all contract documentation
- Effectively manage contractors, carrying out and managing the quality inspection process of works, including pre-start scoping, work in progress quality inspection and post inspection signoffs
- Certifying contractor valuations and claims within this role's delegated authority limits, including interim and final account payment
Experience required:
- Experience in delivering stock investment / major works to social housing or private residential housing
- HNC/HND in Building Surveying
- Experience of managing suppliers through long term contracts which include JCT Measured Term contracts or similar
Skills, knowledge and expertise required:
- Knowledge of Quality Control systems
- Excellent technical knowledge in all areas of domestic property maintenance
- Excellent customer service skills
