Job description

We are currently partnering with a local authority who are recruiting for a Litigation Lawyer to support the team on an initial 3-month locum basis.

The position is due to start immediately on a full-time basis, and the hourly rate is negotiable subject to PQE.

The ideal candidate will have experience with education prosecutions, and be able to attend court hearings in Oxford.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Managing a mixed caseload of civil and criminal litigation, including handling education prosecutions and non-school attendance
  • Providing expert advice on the management of complex and contentious legal issues
  • Drafting and negotiating a range of documents and agreements
  • Representing the Council at a range of hearings and tribunal cases
  • Experience required:

  • Experience required working within local authority
  • Qualified Solicitor / CILEX Lawyer
  • Working hours:

  • 37 hours per week
  • Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm
