Job description
We are proud to be partnering with a Housing Association in Greater Manchester, who are looking to appoint an Interim Head of Procurement on a three month initial contract with the possibility of extension.
This will be a full-time position with very flexible hybrid working and a daily rate of c.£400 (possible room for negotiation for the right candidate).
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the social housing sector and be confident leading teams through large tenders.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Managing a Procurement team of 3 - 4 staff including a Procurement Manager, Qualified Procurement Officer, Procurement Officer (currently studying) and Procurement Assistant through a period of change
- Active involvement in day to day duties and helping out with tenders - current £18m tender for amalgamation of repairs due to go live before Christmas
- Delivering various business improvement projects (including but not limited to):
- Pipeline Reporting - following quote received from suppliers
- Audit improvement works - Supplier set ups
- Purchasing Guide clarity
- Implementing improvements to the intranet page
- Influencing procurement decisions across the business including senior level stakeholder engagement
- Working with the Director of Finance and Procurement to ensure smooth running procurement function across the business
Experience required:
- Experience required in Social Housing
- Experience working on and delivering large tenders
- Experience managing a team through a period of change
Working hours:
- 36 hours per week
- Monday - Friday, 9am-5pm (flexible)
