Job description

We are currently seeking an experienced HR Manager on a 12-month fixed term contract to drive improvements in employee lifecycle and HR processes, as well as support, coach and develop managers to lead disciplinary and investigation processes.

This is a hybrid position based 4 days a week in Truro with one day home working £40k.  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quality assuring all key people processes to ensure compliance and understanding across all areas e,g, policies, process, investigations, disciplinaries and performance management
  • Partner with staff at all levels and providing direction, coaching and guidance as required and in collaboration with our people adviser team
  • Working with the People Business Partner on change management aspects of the business area development projects
  • Collaborating with the recruitment team to streamline the post-interview process
  • Providing support and oversight for disciplinary and investigations, including tracking progress, ensuring adherence to timescales, and facilitating complex investigations
  • Monitor staff attendance, in line with people policies and procedures, including supporting line managers in conducting absence meetings as and when required
  • Leading on induction processes, including reviewing and improving new starter and leaver processes, ensuring staff experience is positive
  • Driving improvements in internal communications working closely with Recruitment, Shared Services and People Operation teams to embed change and process across services
  • Leading on translating feedback from the staff survey into actionable improvements, specifically developing and implementing strategies aimed at reducing sickness absence levels, improving working culture, and reducing staff turnover
  • Designing and delivering HR training sessions for Team Leaders and managers, focusing on key areas such as performance management, sickness absence, and effective resolution of lower-level staff issues

About You:

  • Proven ability to deliver on all aspects of people management including recruitment, retention, development and management
  • Experience and knowledge of the essentials of employment law, and proven ability in managing complex employee relations work
  • Proven ability to plan, identify and mitigate risk, manage and deliver HR, manager training or projects
  • Proven ability to work independently, drive change and adapt approaches
