Job description

We are currently working in partnership with a Housing Association based in Bedfordshire, who are recruiting for a Housing Officer on a temporary six-week contract. The position is due to start immediately and offers an hourly rate of pay negotiable up to £25.00 via an Umbrella company.

The ideal candidate will have used the Orchard system previously, have a basic DBS certificate, or be happy to have one carried out. Access to your own vehicle is an essential requirement and the successful candidate must have proven experience of completing Housing Officer duties.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Managing a patch of properties completing tenancy management duties across Cambridgeshire

  • Completing tenancy audits and reviews and taking the appropriate follow up action

  • Carrying out visits to patch regularly and conducting estate walkabouts

  • Completing sign ups using the suitability assessment and affordability system

  • Dealing with all cases of low level ASB including noise and nuisance complaints

  • Dealing with rent arrears cases and completing the rents process from start to finish

  • Working with residents to promote community involvement to help tackle cases of ASB

  • Referring customers to the correct support organisations and liaising with internal and external departments to ensure the correct support is provided

  • Conveying complex information to customers and key stakeholders

  • Following procedures to maintain clear and concise records

Experience required:

  • Previous experience working as a Housing Officer

  • Must be up to date with knowledge of Housing related legislation

  • Generic Patch management

  • Tenancy Management
