We are proud to be partnering with a Local Authority based in the Staffordshire, who are looking to appoint a new Housing Assistant to join their friendly and proactive team on a one-month temporary contract.

This position is due to start immediately, and the hourly rate is currently £16.80 per hour via an Umbrella Company and there is one – two days working from home per week.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

• Obtaining supporting documents for housing applications e.g., landlord references and identification documents

• Providing assistance and support to customers seeking accommodation including advice on sheltered housing and application advice

• Dealing with the management of voids or neighbourhood issues and ensuring that these are referred to the relevant service

• Managing mutual exchanges, sign ups, successions and transfers of properties

• Advertising vacant homes on the choice-based lettings systems

• Monitoring databases and keeping records up-to-date at all times

• Undertaking post sign-up administration and providing the relevant notifications

• Dealing with customer enquiries received from the Contact Centre, by digital self-serve portal, phone, e-mail, in writing & face to face

Experience required:

• Working in a customer facing role

• Housing administration

• Dealing with the Allocations

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

• IT literate and confident in administration

• Provided advice to housing customers

Working hours:

• 37.5 hours per week

• Monday – Friday 9:00am – 5:00pm
