Job description

We are currently working in partnership with a G15 Housing Association based in London, who are looking to appoint 8 x Flat Door Entrance Carpenters. 

This will be a full-time position based in London, there are 5 x permanent postions available and 3 x 12 month FTC. The salary is £39,706.50 per annum. 

A van will be provided. 

Due to the nature of the role, candidates must have experience in a similar role and have a full UK manual license.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • To carry out annual inspections on all fire doors on multi occupied residential buildings over 11 meters height
  • Inspections will involve carrying out minor repairs and frame manipulation where necessary and clearly documenting your findings using a PDA
  • Contribute to the Fire Safety team's objectives, targets and achievements, whilst operating in line with values and delivering the highest level of quality and customer service to residents
  • Carry out works to a high standard as detailed by work orders or instructed by the supervisor/line manager
  • Work collaboratively within the Fire Safety team to meet and deliver the Trust's objectives
  • Be the 'face and voice' of the Trust with residents and ensuring that repairs and maintenance are carried 'out right first time' and in accordance with standards, having regard for resident satisfaction at all times
  • Ensure works are carried out in accordance with policies, KPI requirements and schedule of rates to ensure value for money and to keep material usage to a minimum consistent with the required quality of work 

Experience required:

  • Specialist  Knowledge and experience of Hanging Fire Doors and fire door sets and second fix carpentry and fire door maintenance
  • Full UK Manual Driving License essential 

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Working knowledge and understanding of the building/maintenance trades environment
  • Knowledge of building & construction or housing repairs & maintenance
  • Ability to assess customer needs and to meet quality standards for service with a focus on delivering -high standards of customer/resident satisfaction
