Job description
Our client, based in Surrey (London, South East patch), is currently recruiting for a Fire Improvement Works Surveyor on permanent basis.
The position is due to start immediately on a full-time basis. With a salary of £55,000 per annum and two days per week working from home.
The ideal candidate will have a HNC/HND and be willing to take out a DBS before placed in the role.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Fire Improvement Works programmes include both active and passive work streams including all fire doors, fire stopping, property fire detection and communal alarm systems and all ad-hoc fire related remedial/renewal works as required
- To assist the Senior FIW Project Manager in the delivery of the planned active and passive fire improvement works arising from the Fire Risk Assessments to all homes ensuring compliance with statutory duties
- During site inspections, carry out Health and Safety checks to ensure both statutory and requirements are being met by both Contractor Operatives and working practices
- Assist with the inspection of properties to scope fire improvement works and prepare specifications in accordance with the block fire risk assessment, Fire Safety Standards and framework contracts
- Working collaboratively with the Building Services, Health and Safety and Housing teams in relation to matters arising during work delivery
- Ensure value for money is achieved by good financial cost control and financial management of fire improvement works in relation to assessing the volume of works required and contractor variations
Experience required:
- Strong experience in managing maintenance services across both Registered Social Landlords (RSL) and private sectors
- Proven expertise in delivering and overseeing passive and active fire safety improvement projects
- In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in the procurement and implementation of maintenance services
- Demonstrated ability to build and sustain effective, collaborative relationships with internal departments to drive successful outcomes
