Job description

We are currently working in partnership with a Local Government organisation, who are looking to appoint a Facilities Assistant on a permanent basis.

This will be a full-time position based in Southeast London, and a salary of £32,560 per annum.

The ideal candidate will have an SIA license and have previous public sector experience.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Provide support for the smooth daily operation of services including reception, visitor assistance, meeting room management, post handling, portering, maintenance, cleaning, and security
  • To liaise with the cleaning manager on any cleaning issues
  • Manage and control building systems such as heating and lighting to ensure building users are comfortable and the building is operational and providing customer satisfaction
  • Set up meeting rooms, including AV equipment, liaising with RBG IT as needed, and coordinating room bookings with reception staff, to suit all meetings
  • Handling enquiries and correspondence promptly and efficiently via email, telephone, or in person, this includes receiving and collecting post for occupiers of the building and coordinating with the post room
  • Log and monitor issues and service requests using the CAFM system, including faults, repairs and room setups
  • Ensure building users adhere to current H&S policies and log/report non-compliance incidents to the relevant department

Experience required:

  • Experience in facilities management and/or building operations
  • Experience in delivering excellent customer service
  • Experience in building access control, key holding, and site security

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Ability to manage daily tasks independently and work effectively as part of

a team

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to carry out minor repairs and support with manual handling tasks
  • High level of attention to detail and ability to follow procedures accurately

Working hours:

  • 35 hours per week
  • Monday – Friday, either 7am -3pm or 3pm to 11pm
