Job description

We are currently working in partnership with a housing association, who are looking to appoint a District Heating Manager on a permanent basis.

This will be a full-time position based in Yorkshire, with hybrid working and a salary of £54,000 per annum.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience of working within a mechanically biased Building Services role. 

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Creating the future strategy to deliver the organisations vision for cost effective and sustainable heating across heat networks

  • Liaising with consultants to secure the necessary funding to execute the agreed strategy

  • Providing technical expertise, leadership and guidance to the organisation in relation to the district heating systems

  • Overseeing the technical specification, contract management, and delivery of optimisation works, obtaining third-party verification

  • Reviewing the sustainability credentials of district heating systems, together with any proposed changes to the system

  • Managing all associated funding bids, with support from contractor/consultants

  • Taking ownership of a system-wide options appraisal report that has been set-up to review all sustainable and cost-effective options

  • Managing tendering of contracts to third parties

Experience & Skills required:

  • Operational experience working on district heating systems

  • Degree-qualified Chartered Engineer, HNC/HND or equivalent

  • Proven track record of problem solving and fault finding

  • Strong knowledge of CDM and Health & Safety 

Working hours:

  • 35 hours per week

  • Monday - Friday, 9am-5pm
