Job description
We are currently working in partnership with leading Housing Assocation in North Devon as they search for Communities and Compliance Manager for a permanent opportunity.
This will be a full-time position based in Newton Abbott, with hybrid working and a salary of £47,689.00 per annum.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Housing Management and strong knowledge in Housing and tenancy rights.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Report directly to the Director of Housing, assisting them in the overall management of the Housing Team
- Lead and support a team of Community Housing Officers, including those managing the Gypsy and Traveller site, to deliver excellent service
- Work collaboratively with managers across to ensure all tenancies meet compliance requirements
- Coach and mentor frontline housing staff to respond effectively to tenancy breaches, domestic abuse, safeguarding concerns, and community safety issues
- Oversee complex cases listed on the Housing Service's risk register, ensuring appropriate management and resolution.
- Act as the lead for Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) and Tenancy Management, ensuring staff across the Directorate are properly trained and supported in these areas.
- Represent Housing Association in court for tenancy-related matters, including anti-social behaviour (ASB) and neighbour disputes
- Make sure tenants have Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans (PEEPs) in place where needed
Experience required:
- Significant experience in social housing or tenancy management
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Solid understanding of housing legislation
- Experience managing complex or high-risk tenancy cases
- Knowledge of compliance standards
- A collaborative approach
- Excellent organisational and case management skills
Skills, knowledge and expertise required:
- In-depth knowledge of housing legislation and policy, particularly around tenancy management, ASB, safeguarding, and equality and diversity
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate, support, and develop a team
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence at all levels, both internally and externally
- Skilled in casework management, particularly complex or high-risk tenancy issues.
- Problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Ability to manage time effectively, prioritising workload to meet deadlines and service demands.
- Strong report writing and IT skills
Working hours:
- 37 hours per week
- Monday - Friday, 9am-5pm
