Job description

Our client, based in Frome, is currently recruiting for an Accommodation Support Worker on a permanent basis.

 

The position is due to start immediately on a full-time basis. The salary is the equivalent of between £26,000 - £27,000.

 

The ideal candidate will have experience working with vulnerable young adults, hold a enhanced DBS on the update service have access to their own vehicle.

 

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

    • Working with and supporting young people with developing independent skills to sustain their tenancy
    • Providing timely and appropriate interventions to meet the needs of the individual
    • Handling a variety of tenancy related needs including; sign ups, rent issues, debt advice and avoiding the breach of tenancies
    • Developing young people's independence using personalised independence plans
    • Supporting young people into training/education/employment/volunteering as a priority and signposting young people to relevant agencies
    • Working with external agencies on a regular basis
    • Attending and contributing at events, meetings and activities with groups of colleagues, young people and partner agency staff, with the aim of contributing to service development both internally and externally

 

Experience required:

  • Experience working with vulnerable clients or young persons

 

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Ability to be innovative, take initiative, be self-motivated and plan own work load √
  • Efficient and organised recording and administrative skills. √
  • To communicate effectively in writing and by telephone √
  • To work in a stressful, sometimes hostile environment

Working hours:

  • 37.5 per week
  • Rota shifts including 1 in 3 weekends - 8:00am to 16:00 pm and 12:00pm to 20:00pm
