Property Client Case Study: Cannock Chase Council

Back to Blogs

The challenge

Our client was looking for support within their maintenance team but had a limited budget. Our expert consultant took them through the key role responsibilities and discussed the market rates and availability in order to appoint an Electrical Qualifying Supervisor.

Cannock Chase Council required a candidate with specific qualifications (18th Edition, 2391 Testing & Inspection (Initial and Periodic), AM2 Qualification and be a Qualifying Supervisor), experience dealing with Social Housing and outstanding communication skills. This combination of requirements created a niche candidate specification.

How did we succeed?

Our sourcing strategy;

  • Careful distinction between essential and desirable criteria within the person specification to widen access to suitably qualified electrical professionals

  • Comprehensive search of both active and passive candidates across multiple platforms, focusing on individuals with key inspection, testing, and compliance experience aligned to the core supervisory function

  • Targeted yet confidential outreach and advertising through LinkedIn Recruiter to attract high-calibre, certified Electrical Qualifying Supervisors

A total of 28 candidates were directly contacted within a 12 hour period producing a longlist of nine applicants, three of which were progressed to interview.

What were the results?

Following a successful interview phase, we secured a well-suited candidate whose qualifications and sector expertise blended well with the team and key deliverables.

Key successes:

  • Time between vacancy registration and successful candidate submission: same day

  • Ideally suited candidate sourced

  • Both candidate and client had outstanding feedback and the successful candidate was taken from a temporary contract onto a permanent contract

''Business demands and role specific criteria are always listened to and resolved, resulting in the provision of highly experienced and skilled candidates on a temporary and permanent basis.”
