Job description
We are currently partnering with a leading University based in the South West, who are recruiting for a University Lawyer to join their growing team on a permanent basis.
This is a full-time position with a salary band of £50,000 to £55,000 (subject to experience) and the start date is subject to notice.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
Providing specialist in-house legal support across the University on a variety of legal and related matters
Acting as the Universities primary legal expert on contracts and all legal aspects relating to the University’s educational partnerships (i.e., franchise and validation arrangements), including the preparation of contractual documents, undertaking and preparing reports on legal due diligence, advising on licensing, regulatory matters and risk, reviewing and contributing to relevant policies
Supporting the Universities staff members in managing legal risks, through the provision of legal briefings, training and the development of templates, advice and guidance
Ability to deputise for the Head of Legal and supervise staff within the team as required, and effectively represent the wider Governance, Legal & Compliance Department at internal and external meetings and events as necessary
Experience required:
Experience ideally within the Education setting
Experience negotiation and advising on complex contracts required
Skills, knowledge and expertise required:
Must be a qualified Solicitor or Barrister
Working hours:
37 hours per week
Monday – Friday
