Tenancy Support Worker
Job description
We are currently working in partnership with a Charity/ Not-for-Profit, who are looking to appoint a Tenancy Support Worker on a 3-month temporary contract based in Swansea.
This will be a full-time position working 37 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 09:00-17:00), with home working on Mondays and Fridays, and a rate of pay negotiable based on experience.
The ideal candidate will have experience managing vulnerable clients with complex needs, offering tenancy support, and working in collaboration with external agencies.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
Managing a caseload of 13 vulnerable clients with complex needs across Swansea and in their own homes
Supporting clients to sustain their tenancies and find move-on accommodation
Providing welfare and benefits advice and supporting with general money management (including monitoring rent accounts)
Creating support plans and undertaking risk assessments
Signposting client queries to appropriate external agencies (e.g. Police, Probation Services, Social Services, Local Authorities)
Assisting with tenancy management, including low-level anti-social behaviour complaints and rental arrears
Working in partnership with housing management and maintenance teams to address housing issues
Experience required:
Experience working with vulnerable clients in a housing or tenancy support capacity
Strong knowledge of welfare benefits, tenancy sustainment, and risk assessment
Skills, knowledge and expertise required:
Effective caseload management
Strong communication and partnership-working skills
Ability to work independently and remotely
Additional requirements:
Must hold an Enhanced DBS issued within the last 3 years
