Job description

We are currently working in partnership with Social Housing provider in Macclesfield who are recruiting for a Surveyor (HHSRS and Repairs) on an initial three-month contract.

The position is due to start immediately, with the potential to go full time. The hourly rate for the role is up to £34.00 per hour on an Umbrella basis.

The ideal candidate will have extensive domestic repairs knowledge, an in depth understanding of HHSRS and have worked within Social Housing before.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Undertaking inspections of properties to assess repair, maintenance, and refurbishment requirements, ensuring compliance with social housing standards

  • Carrying out risk assessments under the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS), identifying hazards, prioritizing actions, and recommending appropriate remedial measures

  • Preparing accurate specifications, costings, and work schedules for repair and improvement projects

  • Providing technical guidance on structural issues, including foundations, roofs, walls, and load-bearing elements

  • Liaising with contractors, monitoring work quality, progress, and adherence to specifications, health and safety regulations, and contract terms

  • Working with internal teams, including asset management and compliance, to support planned maintenance programmes and capital investment initiatives

  • Providing advice to tenants and colleagues on property condition, maintenance responsibilities, and safety matters

Experience required:

  • Strong experience around HHSRS

  • Experience carrying out responsive and void surveys

  • Experience in Contract Administration

Working hours:

  • 37.5 hours per week

  • Monday - Friday, Flexible Start/Finish Times
