Job description
Our client, an award winning charitable housing association based in Hemel Hempstead, is currently recruiting for x2 Support Workers on a permanent contract.
The position is due to start immediately on a full-time basis. The salary rate is £25,350 per annum for this position.
The ideal candidate will hold a full UK driving licence and have experience working with vulnerable adults in a care setting or health and social care field.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
Assist service users across a Supported Living scheme of purpose built flats for people with mental health issues, with each tenant having their own self contained flat and 24 hour on-site support
Provide appropriate support to service users who are living in their own homes or in a supported housing setting to enable them to develop and maximise their independence
Promote life skills such as shopping, managing budgets and domestic tasks such as cooking and cleaning
Follow agreed support plans and risk assessments to ensure that we are providing a service that meets each individual`s needs
Support their aspirations and maximise their independence
Work shifts as part of a rota system which will include weekend and bank holiday working
Operate as part of a team to deliver an excellent service to the people supported
Have a commitment to equality and diversity and take a positive approach to supporting people with learning disabilities
Experience required:
Worked in a care setting or health and social care field
Experience of providing support to vulnerable people

Working hours:
Shift work, 37.5 hours per week
One long (sleep-in) shift per week that is 2pm - 10pm / 10pm - 7am sleep-in / 7am – 3pm work
The rest are a variety of 8am – 4pm, 9am – 5pm, 10am – 6pm and 1pm – 9pm
Based on a rolling rota
This includes 2 weekends per 4 weeks and occasional bank holidays
