Job description

We are currently partnering with a London based charity who are recruiting for a Support Worker to join their growing team on a 1 month rolling contract.

This is a full-time position covering a Lewisham and Southwark patch with a rate of £22.97 via an umbrella company.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Providing resettlement support for the first 3 months of tenancy including assisting with bills and welfare advice
  • Providing tenancy sustainment advice, ensuing clients are following tenancy agreements and create plans to retain newly obtained or current accommodation
  • Providing benefit advice to tenants
  • Engaging in homelessness prevention strategies

Experience required:

  • Support worker experience
  • Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Previous experience working with people who are homeless and have complex needs
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • Awareness of and ability to comply with relevant health and safety legislation
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
