Job description

We are currently working in partnership with a Housing Association based in Kent, who are recruiting for a Energy Contracts Manager on a temporary three-month contract. The position is due to start immediately, with the potential to go full time. The hourly rate of pay is negotiable up to £300 per day via an umbrella company. 

The ideal candidate will have experience of Contract Management ideally in energy improvements works, including the selection of suitable properties, design, procurement, and contract delivery.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Provide input into our Asset Management Strategy to include how we will achieve EPC C by 2030 and Net Zero Carbon by 2050
  • Ensure that our Development Sustainability Policy promotes that our new properties are a minimum of EPC C, are Net Zero Carbon ready and align to the technology we want in our homes
  • Contract manage all energy efficiency projects with consultants and contractors from the planning stage, procurement, contract duration to completion, ensuring that resident communication is paramount and KPI's are delivered to receive grant funding
  • Manage and monitor the energy performance of our properties and ensure that they are compliant with regulatory requirements related to energy efficiency and carbon reduction
  • Ensure no works carried out have detrimental effects to our residents and their homes, we will not put residents into further fuel poverty
  • Report on progress towards achieving energy efficiency goals to senior management and stakeholders

Experience required:

  • Experience of Contract Management ideally in energy improvements works, including the selection of suitable properties, design, procurement, and contract delivery.
  • Experience of previous waves of the Social Housing Decarbonisation fund would be desirable. 

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Broad knowledge of the Housing sector and wider operating environment
  • In-depth knowledge in energy efficiency data including EPC data, generation of improvement measures for EPC scores and bandings along with carbon reduction practices
  • Working knowledge of building pathology, repairs, and maintenance processes within social housing
