Strategic IT Business Partner
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000
Our client, a public sector organisation, seeks a Strategic Business Partner to align IT services with strategic objectives and drive technology-led transformation.
The Role
Act as trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, bridging business units and IT. you'll provide strategic oversight, governance, and performance monitoring of outsourced IT services.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as primary liaison between business and IT, ensuring technology aligns with strategic priorities
- Conduct business impact assessments and identify digital transformation readiness gaps
- Lead implementation of digital solutions using ITIL 4 and Agile methodologies
- Manage relationships with senior leadership, directorates, and IT service providers
- Oversee outsourced IT performance, ensuring compliance with ITIL 4 and NIST CSF 2.0 standards
- Promote agile working methods and ensure integration with key platforms (Microsoft Fabric, Power Platform, ESRI ArcGIS)
- Identify and mitigate IT project risks while ensuring regulatory compliance
- Support digital capability building through coaching and change management
Essential Requirements
- Experience in business relationship management or digital transformation within local government/public sector
- Ability to conduct business impact assessments and translate business needs into digital solutions
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills
- Experience in agile, product-based IT environments
Desirable Requirements
- SFIA Level 5 capabilities in strategic planning and governance
- GDAD governance frameworks and business change leadership experience
- Contract and supplier management experience
- Change management certification (PROSCI, APM, PRINCE2, or Agile)
- Experience in data-led organisations with cybersecurity knowledge
