Job description

We are currently partnering with a respected Charity organisation based in Birmingham, who are recruiting for a Sheltered Housing Officer to join their team on a permanent basis.

This is a full-time position, which is office and patch based, and has a salary of £30,000 per annum.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Managing the allocation and letting of properties, ensuring timely turnaround and meeting occupancy targets

  • Working with external stakeholders to maintain effective referral pathways for incoming residents

  • Supporting new tenants in setting up their tenancy, completing required documentation, and settling into their accommodation

  • Creating and managing tenancy agreements, ensuring residents understand their responsibilities

  • Monitoring and managing tenancy issues, including arrears, and taking appropriate action to resolve or terminate when necessary

  • Addressing anti-social behaviour and promoting a safe and peaceful living environment for all residents

  • Coordinating void property referrals and liaising with the Asset Management team to ensure properties are ready for re-letting

  • Monitoring and reporting on repairs and maintenance issues, ensuring timely completion and compliance with safety standards

  • Maintaining accurate, up-to-date digital records and producing written documentation and reports as required

  • Following safeguarding procedures, responding to resident concerns, and ensuring health and safety standards are upheld

Skills, knowledge and experience required:

  • Experience in housing management and property maintenance

  • Strong knowledge of housing law and benefit system

  • Ideally have experience supporting vulnerable or older tenants

  • Excellent communication, administrative, and IT skill

  • Full UK Driving Licence and access to a car
