Job description

Our client, based in London, is currently recruiting for a Facilities Manager on a 3-month temporary contract.

The position is due to start on the 28th of May 2024 on a full-time basis. The hourly rate is between £25-£30 per hour via Umbrella company based on experience for this position.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with vulnerable adults, and hold an enhanced DBS taken out within the last year.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Ensuring building safety and upkeep is upheld to a high standard and that all repairs are completed in a timely manner, ensuring that the client remains compliant with its Health and Safety and other regulatory responsibilities (e.g., HSE, CQC, etc.).
  • Provide line management and oversight of the estate manager and maintenance team, ensuring that their work is prioritised and delivered within budget,
  • Conducting regular planning and monitoring of the maintenance team’s work schedule, ensuring that personnel and resources are deployed as efficiently as possible
  • Managing client and resident relationships sensitively while dealing with vulnerable residents including residents with brain injuries
  • Monitoring the ongoing performance of external service/ building contractors and advise the Director of Resources and Chief Executive on the procurement of maintenance, catering, and ancillary services, where applicable
  • Requirement to engage current stakeholders, as well as identifying and building new external relationships across a wide variety of stakeholder groups

Experience required:

  • Experience required working with vulnerable people
  • Prior Contract management experience desirable

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Recognised qualification such as IOSH / BSc/BA in Safety Management
  • Compliance and due diligence particularly gas and water
  • High quality facilities management
