Job description

We are currently partnering with a leading law firm in the UK specialising in providing legal services to public sector and not-for-profit organisations., who are recruiting for a Senior Planning Lawyer to join their growing team on a temporary 4 month basis.

 

This is a full-time position with a negotiable rate and the start date is as soon as possible. This role is hybrid with office attendance required twice a week.

                                                                               

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Acting as a legal advisor in planning, large scale development and highways and other corporate or constitutional and administrative matters to ensure compliance with statutory duties and obligations and to protect the best interests of the client
  • Advising and negotiating on projects involving multiple agencies and client interests, including the third sector
  • Providing timely legally sound, practical advice to planning and highway officers on a range of legal queries
  • Representing clients in negotiations and discussions with third parties in matters regarding the areas of legal practice
  • Advising on large scale planning and development projects including section 106 agreements

 

Experience and skills required:

  • Qualified Solicitor
  • Knowledge of planning law (either residential or minerals and waste), development and/or
    highways related law, including s106 agreements
  • Experience of providing advice at Committees, working groups and project boards

 

Working hours:

  • 37 hours per week
  • They are also open to offering condensed hours
