Job description
We are currently partnering with a respected Housing organisation based in Bedfordshire, who are recruiting for a Senior Housing Officer to join their team on a permanent basis.
This is a full-time position, which is home based, with the requirement to be out on patch 2-3 times a week. The salary of this role is £35,000 per annum, and there is also a monthly car allowance.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
Responsible for chasing rent arrears and implementing preventative measures including the development of repayment plans
Serving Section 8 and Section 21 notices where applicable and managing evictions when escalated
Covering a patch of 500 properties shared across the team
Line managing one Housing Officer and one Housing Assistant
Completing Back to Work interviews and sickness absence forms
Preparing documentation and attending court for rent arrears cases
Allocating properties to new and existing customers including managing the sign-up process conducting interviews and performing eligibility checks
Managing all aspects of tenancy management including mutual exchanges successions and name changes
Conducting quarterly tenancy reviews
Mediating low-level anti-social behaviour cases and taking witness statements where required
Overseeing neighbourhood management responsibilities such as estate walkabouts and ensuring communal areas are clean and well-maintained
Signposting customers to external services and liaising with the police and local authorities as necessary
Skills, knowledge and experience required:
Previous experience as a Housing Officer or in a similar housing role
Strong knowledge of housing law including Section 8 and 21 processes
Confident managing rent arrears, ASB cases and tenancy issues
Excellent communication, organisational and IT skills
Full UK Driving Licence and access to a car
