Job description

We are currently working in partnership with a large nationwide Housing Association, who is currently recruiting for a Scheme Manager on a permanent contract. The position is due to start immediately on a full-time basis, with the salary up to £24,700 and would be covering two schemes in South Manchester.

The ideal candidate will have a background in sheltered or supported housing and hold an enhanced DBS – and will have a full UK driving license.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Holding responsibility for a caseload of clients within the sheltered scheme to promote independent living (55+)
  • Making daily contact with tenants as required, checking on their welfare in line with their individual support needs
  • Ensuring the designated scheme is linked to the relevant alarm response system, maintaining regular liaison with the staff in relation to any tenant, including making referrals for dispersed alarms where required
  • Reporting repairs including any communal repairs that need to be carried out and monitoring their progress
  • Undertaking health and safety checks in tenant’s homes, testing water temperature and pull chords
  • Offered support and advice to residents on several aspects of tenancy including rents and service charge queries
  • Encouraged links within the local community and provided opportunities for residents to actively participate in local life

  • Working with vulnerable tenants
  • Monitoring support plans and risk assessments
  • Encouraging independent living
