Job description

We are currently working in partnership with a Housing Association, who are looking to appoint a Repairs Surveyor on a temporary basis.

This will be a full-time position covering North London and surrounding areas. It is fully hybrid and the rate is negotiable upon experience.

The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of housing maintenance and have been in a previous role.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Support the Senior Repairs Surveyor in the efficient and effective delivery of maintenance in the region, to include all aspects of responsive, cyclical and major repairs to tenanted and void properties

  • Diagnose maintenance requirements to the housing stock and ensure that the quality of the works delivered by contractors is to an acceptable standard

  • Support the in the achievement of key performance targets in the region

  • Maintained the quality and effectiveness of services to the association’s tenants

  • Delivered a local minor adaptations service, within agreed budgets

  • Certified that contractors provide value for money through checking of invoices and valuations ensure Operating Procedures are followed

  • Ensured contractors works is delivered in line with CDM regulations

  • Provided technical support and undertake site inspection on regional properties in timescale outlined with the Operating Procedures

  • Ensure outstanding works orders are managed as per the Operating Procedures

  • Undertook a representative sample of repairs are inspected after completion on all repairs and voids as directed

  • Updated Housing Management Asset System immediately following planned works installations

  • Acted on customer complaints and resolve at appropriate level and also act on negative customer feedback and resolve quality issues

  • Experience required:

    • Experience dealing with damp, mould and condensation

    • Experience communicating with service users, staff and other agencies

    Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

    • Knowledge of housing maintenance, repair specifications, diagnosing defects and remedial works

    • Strong knowledge of social housing management

    • Knowledge of housing / property management systems (Northgate or similar)
