Job description
We are currently working in partnership with an established Charity based in Hertfordshire, who are recruiting for a Mental Health Support Worker on a temporary four-week contract. The position is due to start immediately, with the potential for extension. The hourly rate of pay is negotiable up to £17.00 an hour via an umbrella company.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with mental health and complex needs, have an Enhanced DBS certificate, drive and have access to their own vehicle, and have proven experience of Support Worker duties.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
Delivering support to vulnerable adults with a mental health condition/complex need
Carrying out needs and risk assessments, complete support plans, provide support and carry out reviews in accordance with policies and procedures
Promote independence with a view to move on into independent living within a period of 3-5 years
Supporting customers to maximise their income and to access benefits
Liaising with colleagues, partner agencies and other stakeholders regarding safeguarding, welfare, and risk concerns
Dealing with any housing management issues
Participating customer reviews, team meetings and training courses
Promoting and encouraging independent life skills
Supporting customers to sustain their housing and identify and move onto housing which meets their needs
Experience required:
Experience required in Social Housing
Experience working with customers within housing
Skills, knowledge and expertise required:
Carrying out risk assessments
Creating personalised support plans
Liaising with colleagues, partner agencies and other stakeholders regarding safeguarding, welfare, and risk concerns
Working hours:
37.5 hours per week
Monday - Friday, 9:00am-5:30pm
