Job description

We are currently working in corporation once again with Local Authority based in Gloucestershire, who are recruiting for a working from home (hybrid) Refugee Homelessness Officer on a temporary 3-month contract, with an opportunity for extension. The position is due to start immediately, on a full-time basis, with 3 days working from home. The hourly rate of pay is up to £30 per hour via an Umbrella company, the rate is negotiable based on experience.

The ideal candidate will have had experience working with homeless individuals, have an enhanced DBS certificate from within 3 years, or be happy to have one carried out and have an understanding of the Locata system.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Being the responsible officer in charge of making Section 184 decisions

  • Liaising with external agencies when required, conduct case reviews, new sign – ups and support providers on behalf of clients that are being threatened with homelessness and preventing this where possible

  • Reviewing and assessing refugee applicants that require emergency accommodation while helping to arrange future appointments

  • Establishing professional and supportive relationships with those who are rough sleeping, new accommodating to identify and address their support needs

  • Arranging for translators to help communicate with customers

Experience required:

  • Experience required in Homelessness

  • Experience working with Locata

  • 37 hours per week

  • Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm
