We are currently working in partnership with a leading regional employer based in Birmingham, who are recruiting for a Project Accountant on a 3-6 month contract. The position is due to start in November and the daily rate of pay is £400-£500 via an Umbrella Company.

The ideal candidate will have experience with high volume, high value projects, and have intermediate Excel skills having used pivot tables and SUMIFs.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

·         Delivering month end close activities within a tight two day turnaround

·         Preparing and posting accruals and prepayments and submitting for review by senior finance staff

·         Liaising with the Business team to ensure all accruals and prepayments are accurate

·         Identifying and analysing variances between actuals, budgets and forecasts, providing clear commentary

·         Maintaining the ledger through accurate postings and regular reconciliations

·         Assisting with quarterly forecast, including reviewing funds to ensure sufficient cashflow for upcoming projects

Experience required:

·         Experience required with large, high value projects

·         Experience liaising with diverse teams such as Auditors and Finance Business Partners

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

·         Intermediate Excel level (pivot tables, SUMIFs)
