Job description
We are currently partnering with a leading public sector body based in Exeter, who are recruiting for a Procurement Business Partner to join their growing team on a permanent basis.
This is a full-time position with a salary of £55,000 and the start date is subject to notice.
The ideal candidate will be MCIPS qualified and have experience of managing procurement activities within the public sector, where PCR 2015 / Procurement Act 2023 applied.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Delivering an efficient, effective, procurement service to the business
- Acting as the internal expert on procurement, frameworks, legislation, systems, policies and procedures related to it
- Supporting the business to deliver Value for Money and quality services
- Developing a newly formed procurement team ensuring they meet their key objectives
- Ensuring that regulatory and statutory requirements are met across the organisation
- Leading and undertaking the procurement of services, materials and other contracts, including writing tenders, specifications and evaluation criteria
- Promoting strong stakeholder relationships (internally, regulatory and within the sector)
- Using data and insight, providing effective procurement, contract management and continuous improvement to enabling confident decision-making
- Supporting colleagues undertaking procurement and purchasing activities for contracts across the business
- Developing and maintaining procurement processes and documentation, that meet regulatory and statutory requirements
- Leading and promoting best practice procurement for the organisation
Experience required:
- Experience of procurement of property repairs, maintenance, and servicing contracts
- Experience of development of contract specification documents and tenders
Skills, knowledge and expertise required:
- MCIPS qualified
- Thorough understanding of strategic procurement
- Experience of managing procurement activities where PCR 2015 and/or Procurement Act 2023 applied
- Experience of development of contract specification documents and tenders

Working hours:
- 37 hours per week
