Job description

We are currently working in partnership with an award-winning surveying consultancy who have been listed as a Times Top 100 company to work for in the UK, who are looking to appoint a Principal Building Surveyor on a permanent contract.

This will be a full-time position based in London, with hybrid working (2/3 days home working) and a salary of £65,000 - £75,000 per annum.

The ideal candidate will hold an MRICS membership, have business development experience as well as a proven track record within contract administration.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Managing a team consisting of Building Surveyor/Assistant Building Surveyor/Trainee Building Surveyor/Year-out Student
  • Assist Programme Manager with Client liaison to include formulation of briefs, fee proposals, presentation of schemes, and/or services, project programming and other matters affecting delivery of service
  • Act as the Contract Administrator or Employer's Agent on a wide range of building types
  • Carry out the necessary research to support Business Plan activities and Sector knowledge for opportunities and networking
  • Assist in the preparation and drafting of quality questions for tender opportunities
  • Mange risk, including any on-going PI issues relevant to your projects

Experience required:

  • MRICS membership

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Contract administration on a wide range of residential public sector projects
  • Ability to prove business retention/development within surveying consultancies

Working hours:
