Job description

We are currently working in partnership with a Housing Association based in Maidenhead, who are recruiting for a Planned Surveyor.

The role is based across Berkshire and is 37 hours per week (Monday to Friday 9-5).

The role offers a salary of up to £44,300 per annum (plus £2,621 Car Allowance).

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Work with colleagues to procure contractors and consultants in accordance to rules

  • Prepare specifications and contract documents for individual projects and programmes

  • Ensure that all statutory requirements are met, including Construction Design & Management regulations, and that Building Control and planning requirements are met when applicable

  • Ensure that contracts are signed, and that statutory requirements are met, before work commences

  • Provide cost and project information on a timely basis to allow s20 requirements to be met in schemes with leaseholders

  • Manage contracts, including issuing orders, chairing progress meetings, authorising payments, and managing any delays to the programme that may occur

  • Produce progress reports when required and exercise overall control of the project / programme costs within its approved budget

Experience required:

  • Experience of writing specifications and contract

  • Leading the management of a contract and completion of a building or repair project

  • Experience managing a project within a budget

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • HNC/HND in Building Surveying, CIOB or equivalent

  • Knowledge and experience in current safety-related regulations and legislation

  • Knowledge of technical issues concerning construction and maintenance of housing

  • Basic DBS and valid driver’s license
