Job description

Our client, based in Kent, is currently recruiting for a Multi-Trade Carpenter on a 3-month temporary contract.

The position is due to start immediately on a full-time basis. The hourly rate goes up to £25 per hour via an umbrella company for the right candidate.

The ideal candidate will have experience working within social housing, hold a relevant NVQ Level 2 or equivalent and have their own vehicle with a full UK Driving License.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Undertaking maintenance work on site as required ensuring works are completed to the highest of standards
  • Working on various occupied and void properties carrying out remedial works
    Ensuring that relevant task specific Risk Assessments are utilised for tasks such as work at height, COSHH and manual handling
  • Liaising with customers when arranging and carrying out work, having full regard to their needs; ensuring properties are left in a clean and safe manner
  • Assessing, planning and requesting parts and materials required to carry out the work
  • Experience required:

  • A minimum of 3 years’ trade experience working in the building maintenance industry
  • Working from verbal and written instructions, including drawings, diagrams, sketches, calculations using measuring equipment where appropriate
  • Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Knowledge of health and safety standards
  • An understanding of property repairs and effectively display trade skills
  • A good command of Noise at Work Regulations
  • Expertise in CAR 2012 Regulations
