Job description

We are currently working in partnership with a Charity/Not-for-Profit based in Bristol, who are recruiting for an Income Officer on a permanent contract. The position is due to start immediately, with a salary of between £22,683.51 - £28,194.71 per annum.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Proactively managing tenants’ accounts, including recharges/sundry debts, shared ownership rent accounts and former tenant arrears, ensuring that residents know what to pay, when to pay and how to pay

  • Keeping abreast of welfare benefit changes in order to ensure residents are given good up-to-date advice

  • Minimising cases escalating to court or eviction stage through proactive and effective negotiation and mediation

  • Visiting all tenants in rent arrears within established timescales to assessing circumstances and agree payment plans within the arrear’s recovery procedure

  • Liaising with individual tenants, Housing Benefit Offices and the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) on rent and arrears

  • Attending multiple sheltered housing sites/location across a define patch within Bristol

Experience required:

  • Welfare and benefits understanding

  • Served NOSPS/NTQS

  • Experience working within arrears

Working hours:

35 hours per week

Monday – Friday, 8:30am-16:30pm
