Job description
We are currently working in partnership with a Charity/Not-for-Profit based in Bristol, who are recruiting for an Income Officer on a permanent contract. The position is due to start immediately, with a salary of between £22,683.51 - £28,194.71 per annum.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
Proactively managing tenants’ accounts, including recharges/sundry debts, shared ownership rent accounts and former tenant arrears, ensuring that residents know what to pay, when to pay and how to pay
Keeping abreast of welfare benefit changes in order to ensure residents are given good up-to-date advice
Minimising cases escalating to court or eviction stage through proactive and effective negotiation and mediation
Visiting all tenants in rent arrears within established timescales to assessing circumstances and agree payment plans within the arrear’s recovery procedure
Liaising with individual tenants, Housing Benefit Offices and the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) on rent and arrears
Attending multiple sheltered housing sites/location across a define patch within Bristol
Experience required:
Welfare and benefits understanding
Served NOSPS/NTQS
Experience working within arrears

Working hours:
35 hours per week
Monday – Friday, 8:30am-16:30pm
